Hanoi Football Club is honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal.
On June 8th, Hanoi Football Club was honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal. This is a prestigious award bestowed by the Party and the State, recognizing outstanding achievements in training, coaching, and competition, contributing to the development of Vietnamese football during the 2019-2025 period.
Hanoi Football Club is honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal.
Founded in 2006 by founding chairman Do Quang Hien under the initial name Hanoi T&T, the team started in the Third Division - the lowest level of Vietnamese football. With a well-structured development strategy, Hanoi T&T Club achieved the remarkable feat of "three promotions in three years," quickly rising to the V.League in 2009.
In 2010, coinciding with the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, Hanoi T&T won its first V-League championship, ending a 26-year wait for a title in the capital's football scene. In the 2013 and 2016 seasons, the team continued its winning streak with a distinctive playing style, a spirit of dedication, and a sustainable development strategy based on youth training.
In 2016, Hanoi T&T officially changed its name to Hanoi FC, adopting the Khue Van Cac symbol and its distinctive purple color, aiming to become a source of pride for the capital city. From humble beginnings, Hanoi FC has risen to become the most successful team in the professional football era, boasting 6 V.League championships, 3 National Cups, 5 National Super Cups, and memorable performances in continental competitions.
Hanoi Football Club is one of the most successful teams in the V.League era.
Hanoi Football Club is also the club with the most Vietnamese Golden Ball winners (7), the most V.League top scorers (7), and the Vietnamese club that has played the most matches in continental cups (49).
Beyond just titles, years of consistent focus on youth development have enabled generations of Hanoi FC players to grow into talented, ethical, and modern-minded individuals, bringing success to the capital's team and contributing to historical milestones for the national teams at various levels.
These include Duong Hong Son, the best goalkeeper of the 2008 AFF Cup, the tournament where the Vietnamese national team won its first Southeast Asian title; Pham Thanh Luong, a four-time winner of the Vietnamese Golden Ball and one of the top four players with the most appearances for the national team; Nguyen Van Quyet, captain of the Vietnamese national team in the 2018 AFF Cup victory; Do Duy Manh, captain who lifted the ASEAN Cup trophy in 2024; and Nguyen Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau, Do Hung Dung, Pham Tuan Hai, Nguyen Hai Long… who contributed to memorable achievements at the 2018 U23 Asian Championship, the 2018 Asian Games, the 2018 and 2024 AFF Cup championships, and the third round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Most recently, coach Cristiano Roland and his team made the whole country proud by securing a ticket to the 2026 U17 World Cup finals.
On behalf of the President of Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong presented the Second Class Labor Order to Hanoi FC.
Recognizing the enduring contributions of Hanoi Football Club in building a professional football governance model and accompanying the development of Vietnamese football, the Party and State have decided to award the club the Second Class Labor Medal. The awarding ceremony took place solemnly under the direction of the Central Emulation and Commendation Board and in the presence of leaders from central ministries and departments, and the city of Hanoi. Along with the Third Class Labor Medal received in 2018, Hanoi Football Club becomes the only football club in the history of Vietnamese football to be awarded both the Third Class and the Second Class Labor Medals.
The achievements of Hanoi Football Club are closely linked to the dedication and systematic investment of many generations of leaders, coaches, players, and employees of the club; and also reflect the social responsibility and love of football of Founder Do Quang Hien and T&T Group towards the development of national sports.
At the event, the ceremony honoring the founding chairman, Do Quang Hien, was filled with emotion. With his love, passion, enthusiasm, foresight, and sacrifice, he was the one who ignited the first flame, persistently preserving and continuing to inspire many generations. In particular, regardless of the generation, they all share the identity, aspirations, and spirit of Hanoi.
Looking back on 20 years of proud formation and development, Hanoi Football Club has announced its ideal team for the period 2006-2026. It includes goalkeeper Duong Hong Son; defenders Tran Van Kien, Cristiano Roland, Do Duy Manh, Doan Van Hau; central midfielders Moses Oloya, Do Hung Dung; attacking midfielders Nguyen Van Quyet, Nguyen Quang Hai, Pham Thanh Luong; and striker Hoang Vu Samson. The 4-2-3-1 formation is led by coach Chu Dinh Nghiem, who has guided Hanoi Football Club to 3 V.League championships, 2 National Cups, and 3 National Super Cups.
