T&T Group contributes to the cultural and spiritual space in the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh.
On May 18, 2026, within the framework of the 2026 Lotus Village Festival, commemorating the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026) and the 115th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's departure to seek a path to national salvation (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2026), the People's Committee of Nghe An province and T&T Group jointly organized the inauguration ceremony of the 9-tiered waterfall at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan - the mother of President Ho Chi Minh.
The Nine-Tiered Waterfall project is located in the area of the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, within the special national historical site of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area (Kim Lien commune, Nghe An province). The project has a total investment of over 34 billion VND, funded by T&T Group.
This project is a tribute to President Ho Chi Minh's hometown.
The Nine-Tiered Waterfall project at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan is one of the items included in the Plan for the preservation, restoration, and promotion of the value of the special national historical site of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area in Kim Lien ( Nghe An ), which was approved by the Prime Minister according to Decision No. 1943/QD-TTg dated November 27, 2020.
With sponsorship from T&T Group, the project officially commenced in November 2023, aiming to honor the contributions of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan – the mother of President Ho Chi Minh – in raising and nurturing him. It also aims to gradually improve the overall landscape, increasing the attractiveness for visitors to the tomb area; contributing to the promotion and education of patriotic traditions and national pride, especially for the younger generation.
Inspired by the familiar Vietnamese folk verse: "A father's love is like Mount Thai Son / A mother's love is like the water flowing from a spring," the Nine-Tiered Waterfall was built on the basis of restoring and beautifying the existing natural stream at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan. The structure is created from nine interconnected tiers of water. The central, mirror-like pool is where two small streams converge, flowing from the main tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan and the tomb of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Xin (the youngest brother of President Ho Chi Minh), before merging into a gentle flow through eight tiers down to Uyen Ho Lake amidst the mountainous landscape of Dong Tranh. Each tier is sculpted with a different type of flower, contributing to a landscape rich in symbolism and meaning.
The nine tiers of the waterfall also symbolize the nine words of the Cù Lao (island): Birth, Nurturing, Protection, Cultivation, Growth, Education, Care, Rehabilitation, and Blessing, as a reminder of the immense contributions of parents to their children's birth and upbringing. The flow of water through the nine tiers carries subtle, symbolic meanings of eternity and expresses the profound remembrance of visitors to the tomb of Mrs. Hoàng Thị Loan.
Overall, the Nine-Tiered Waterfall comprises three main sections: the Nine-Tiered Waterfall area, the central area, and the walking paths, all designed in harmony with architecture, nature, and local cultural elements.
The centerpiece is a large lake, 21 meters in diameter, stylized like a giant mirror, reminiscent of the familiar image of a Vietnamese village. The border surrounding the lake resembles the headscarf worn by women in the past. The bottom of the lake is decorated with lotus leaf motifs, providing a backdrop for nine golden lotus flowers, symbolizing purity, gratitude, and appreciation. The semicircular courtyard, covering 280 square meters and accommodating approximately 300 people, opens up a space for community activities. The arched gateway, inspired by the village arches of North Central Vietnam, opens up a spacious, peaceful area and points towards Hoang Tru, Lang Sen – the birthplace of the beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
The nine-tiered waterfall area includes natural rocky streams and eight small pools amidst the Dong Tranh mountain forest, with a total stream length of approximately 100m, creating a gentle, continuous flow within the Dong Tranh mountain forest landscape.
The walking path leads visitors into different scenic spaces, from where they can admire the water flowing from the mirror-like lake down to Uyển Hồ amidst the lush green mountains and forests of Động Tranh.
The project was implemented with utmost respect for the existing topography, landscape, and natural ecosystem in the Dong Tranh mountain area. The materials used were mainly local natural stone blocks and gravel; the stream and waterfall system was renovated while preserving the natural flow, aiming to create a landscape space that is intimate, simple, yet rich in symbolism.
Preserving and spreading cultural and historical values.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tat Thang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of T&T Group, said that with special respect for the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, T&T Group always considers accompanying Nghe An province in activities to preserve, restore and promote cultural and historical values not only as a corporate responsibility, but also as an expression of gratitude and dedication from the Group to the sacred spiritual values of the nation.
Throughout the project implementation, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province, along with T&T Group and related units, devoted considerable effort and time to researching and consulting with specialized agencies and leading experts in culture, history, architecture, and planning both domestically and internationally. This was to ensure that the Nine-Tiered Waterfall project would be both symbolic, culturally profound, and of lasting value, while harmonizing with the natural landscape and the overall cultural and historical space of the historical site.
T&T Group expects that each project in President Ho Chi Minh's hometown will not only beautify the landscape but also contribute to preserving and spreading historical, cultural, and national values to a wide audience of compatriots, domestic and international tourists. This is also the direction that T&T Group always pursues in the development of projects throughout the country: accessing the best of world planning, architecture, and design... but always on the foundation of preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural identity.
“T&T Group believes that, together with the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area, a special national historical site, the Nine-Tier Waterfall project will contribute to creating a cultural and spiritual space rich in meaning; a place for compatriots, domestic and international tourists to offer incense, commemorate, and learn about history and culture; and at the same time contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism, national pride and gratitude for present and future generations,” emphasized the Chairman of the Board of Directors of T&T Group.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province, said that the Nine-Tiered Waterfall is a project with profound symbolic meaning regarding the culture, spirituality and philosophy of the nation; and at the same time expresses gratitude for the contributions of Ms. Hoang Thi Loan - the mother of President Ho Chi Minh - in raising and nurturing him.
“The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province respectfully thanks T&T Group for always accompanying the locality in the preservation and development of the province's culture, including the Nine-Tier Waterfall project. As the investor and managing unit, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to effectively manage and protect the site, gradually improving the overall landscape so that it truly becomes a monument of gratitude and commemoration, worthy of the contributions of Ms. Hoang Thi Loan, meeting the needs of visitors and tourists; and at the same time contributing to promoting and enhancing the value of the special national historical site of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area in his homeland,” affirmed Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh.
Previously, T&T Group also collaborated with Nghe An province in researching, surveying, and developing a master plan for the preservation, restoration, and promotion of the value of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area, a special national historical site. After more than two years of research, in January 2021, the plan for the preservation, restoration, and promotion of the value of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area was officially announced.
Shortly thereafter, T&T Group was again entrusted by the leaders of Nghe An province with the task of accompanying the locality in the implementation of several items under the planning, including the Cultural Tourism Area Project and the 9-Tier Waterfall at the tomb of Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan.
The inauguration of the Nine-Tiered Waterfall, coinciding with the 2026 Lotus Village Festival and the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 115th anniversary of his departure to seek a path to national salvation, carries profound significance in expressing gratitude; it also contributes to educating and spreading historical, cultural, patriotic values and the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source" to present and future generations.
